Abyss’ work in AI and Machine Learning has been recognised by NVidia
October 29, 2018
Sydney, NSW – Abyss Solutions has been inducted into the NVIDIA Inception Program for their innovative work in AI and Machine Learning. Designed as a virtual incubator program, the Inception Program nurtures and helps members during critical stages of product development, prototyping, and deployment.
Abyss Solutions relies on accurate and efficient data analytics capabilities to draw critical information from multi-modal datasets (vision, acoustics, etc.). This information allows for engineers and clients to review assets inspection results and take appropriate action in a timely and cost effective manner. Innovation in computer vision and deep learning technologies has enabled automation in otherwise laborious and error prone data review. These capabilities have already been integrated into a range of products such as inspecting pipelines spanning 100’s of kilometers, analysing corrosion coverage around large complex structures and automatically mapping and quantifying all cracks and defects in large sub-sea structures. The analytics are then used to automatically generate recommendations for appropriate maintenance orders.
Abyss will now be leveraging the benefits of the NVidia Inception Program in accelerating their capabilities in providing state-of-art data analytics capabilities. With new hardware and software support, the in-house machine learning engineers will have all the state-of-the-art tools to develop unparalleled inspection products.
