Alexandra Canal

Alexandra Canal

Image

Alexandra Canal is Sydney’s first artificially constructed inbound waterway and is also one of only two navigable canals constructed in New South Wales. Being a 150-year-old canal of State Heritage significance, our remote robotic inspections provided minimal environmental footprint, which was especially advantageous as the site was inaccessible through land, air, and water. Abyss provided a full condition assessment report, including an interactive 3D model of the asset, above and below water, as well as geo-tagging of images to make fault location precise and easy. In addition, our heat map indicated the severity of faults along the canal and was a precious tool for correct asset management decisions.
