Forest Elbow Reservoir

FOREST ELBOW RESERVOIR- AQUATIC DRONE INSPECTION

Image

The Forest Elbow Reservoir is situated 5.2 km south-west of the Bathurst Central Business District, NSW. It is comprised of three water tanks, with the most easterly tank being the subject of inspection. The tank dimensions are 7 m diameter, 3 m height and 0.13 ML capacity.

Abyss Solutions undertook an exploratory visual inspection of the interior of the reservoir. Comprehensive imagery of the reservoir floors, walls and roofs was analyzed to determine the overall condition of the tank (based on the framework set out in WSAA Conduit Inspection Reporting Code of Australia 2008), testing whether any foreign matter was present, the amount of sedimentation on the floor and the condition of any internal fixtures and features. As a result of Abyss’ services, higher quality data and a comprehensive report were generated, enabling better decision making on asset maintenance.
